Just one week away – international stars meet local high culture
The eighth edition of the Swiss Alps Classics brings the LUCERNE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA to the Andermatt Concert Hall for the second time. After last year's mostly sold-out concerts, we are delighted to welcome this ensemble from the "Champions League" (CH Media review) back to our venue. The orchestra is conducted by the 29-year-old EMMANUEL TJEKNAVORIAN. The former violin prodigy is about to enter the top league as a conductor too.
The two concerts will be crowned by additional top soloists. On Friday, May 3, it will be the multi-award-winning Norwegian ELDBJØRG HEMSING on the violin and her compatriot, pianist HÅVARD GIMSE, already honored with the Diapason d'Or and Gramophone's Editor's Choice. It is an evening dedicated entirely to the North. Edvard Grieg and other sound painters guarantee a sensual, profound journey of discovery. On Saturday, May 4, the young and wild ANASTASIA KOBEKINA will perform her magic on the cello. Her recently released album „Venice", her debut with Sony Classical, has received the highest critical acclaim. She will play the wonderfully romantic cello concerto by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Both concerts start at 6.30 pm. Would you like to be there? All ticket information and booking can be found under Tickets - Swiss Alps Classics.
Eating, dancing, sleeping - a complete package for all the senses
But the Swiss Alps Classics is more than „just" concerts. This year, too, we are offering you an optional additional program. The feast for the ears is followed by a feast for the palate. At The Nordic Sound Dinner in the Cotton Club on Friday or at the Gala Dinner in The Chedi Andermatt on Saturday, we will spoil you with an exquisite three-course menu. Culinary sounds that seamlessly continue the concerts. Complemented on Friday by a DJ party with an open bar until two in the morning.
Would you like to sweeten your stay with a cable car excursion, a hike or simply a dose of wellness? The Chedi Andermatt and the Radisson Blu Reussen offer attractive all-inclusive packages. These packages vary depending on the hotel, room category and dates and start from CHF 370. You can find all further information HERE.
