Young piano stars of the Lang Lang Foundation play in the new chamber music hall - pre-show with Sebastian Bohren was a great success
Andermatt/Vitznau/Zurich (14.4.2023) - The Swiss Alps Classics presents a new concert location in 2023! The seventh edition of the festival will be held on June 16 in the new chamber music hall at DAS MORGEN - KULTUR KULINARIK VITZNAU. Two exceptional US piano talents from the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, CAREY BYRON and SEBASTIAN PICHT, will perform in the hall with high-tech infrastructure, which opened in February. Tickets for the concert are on sale now through the online ticket store on the festival website www.swissalpsclassics.ch. "To the many wonderful venues that have already existed in our festival history, we now add this enchanting chamber music hall on Lake Lucerne. It is a showpiece, both visually and acoustically," says festival founder Peter-Michael Reichel, full of anticipation. The cooperation with the Park Hotel Vitznau, the POK Pühringer Private Foundation and the foundation of piano world star Lang Lang has already existed since 2018; until now, the artists have given concerts in the picturesque Verlinde Hall, which is located directly in the hotel property overlooking the lake.
Urs Langenegger, General Manager Hospitality Visions Lake Lucerne AG, emphasizes, "We are very pleased to successfully continue our long-standing collaboration with the Lang Lang International Music Foundation in the newly opened Chamber Music Hall, which is part of the Campus Culture and Culinary Arts Vitznau. The credo of our venture is to promote young talent. With the new offer, we provide not only a music hall of the highest technical standard, but also an environment with suitable accommodation, a variety of culinary delights and an inspiring setting around Lake Lucerne." Invited guests were already able to experience a musical foretaste of this year's Swiss Alps Classics on Tuesday in Zurich. At an exclusive pre-show, Swiss violinist SEBASTIAN BOHREN gave a short concert. "I was very happy to play a small diversified showcase on the violin for a selected audience in the Genesis Showroom in Zurich!", says Bohren (born 1987), who will perform as a soloist together with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra under chief conductor MICHAEL SANDERLING in the Andermatt Concert Hall for the crowning festival finale on June 17. Bohren emphasizes: "I am particularly looking forward to the performance in Andermatt in June with Beethoven's Violin Concerto as an absolute 'summit work'. In this special place, together with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Sanderling - it's not to be missed!" It will be the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra's premiere at Swiss Alps Classics. Tickets for this year's final concert are also available through the online ticket store.
On Tuesday evening in Zurich - as an "appetizer" - Sebastian Bohren delighted the audience with three works (E. de Ribaupierre: Evolène, J. S. Bach: Gavotte en Rondeau, J. S. Bach: Gigue from Partita II BWV 1006). In addition, the visitors experienced an inspiring short presentation about the destination Andermatt.
